In New York City, there are no shortage of museums, restaurants and neighborhoods to explore but if you find yourself in Brooklyn, we recommend making a point to stay outside and have an adventure.
If you have 36 hours to spend in Brooklyn, here are our recommendations: Start your first morning with a coffee at Brooklyn Roasting (a BioLite favorite - we drink their coffee every morning). After you’re caffeinated, hop on your bike and take the Ocean Parkway Bike Path from Prospect Park to Coney Island. Pack a picnic and have lunch at the beach. (If you’re feeling up for it take a stroll down the boardwalk for a roller coaster ride). After cycling back to the city, reward yourself with a dinner at Dinosaur BBQ and don’t miss Ample Hills ice creamery for a sweet treat. Finish off the night with a beer at a Brooklyn rooftop with amazing views of the city. (If you can't find a friend with access to a rooftop, check out Northern Territory).
Spend the next morning paddling around Brooklyn Bridge Park. You can rent kayaks at the Park's Boathouse. Take a post-paddle snack break at the Williamsburg or Prospect Park Smorgasburg where various restaurants bring delicious to-go meals for you to snack on while relaxing in the park. (Or if it’s a week-day, head over the famous Grimaldi's Pizza for a pie - because you can’t go to New York and not get a great slice). Finish off your 36 hour tour at the High Line, NYC’s elevated park that offers miles of beautiful gardens explore.
If you want to get out of the city during your short trip, there are plenty of easily accessible day trips from the city. We recommend Bear Mountain or Breakneck Ridge.
