"I must say I am truly amazed at how well this worked and how little wood was needed. For this test I just broke off bark, and pieces of cedar that I had laying around in the backyard. This worked better than I thought. I decided to use a cast iron pan so that I would get as close to even heat as possible. This thing worked great. "Awesome! Just Awesome! I can't say it enough. I've used it one a couple of trips now. It takes hardly any wood to cook a whole meal and paired with a cast iron pan, you can cook anything. You do have to watch it while you cook to make sure that the sticks don't burn out but that isn't a deal breaker since I'm cooking after all and standing there drinking a beer and flipping the eggs. "It’s great for cooking food with small amounts of fuel. Sticks and twigs do the trick, and it gets plenty hot. You do need to tend the far because different things will burn slightly differently, but once you really get it going it provides good, consistent heat as long as you feed it fuel."- J. Good Product.
"Been an owner of the dura since 2010 or 2011. Accidentally left my first one behind during a long distance move. Decided i liked it so much I'd just buy a new one. It's much lighter then the old one i had so i decided to contact the seller to find out why. Got a really quick reply stating that the insulation inside had been changed from a solid diatomaceous ceramic to a ceramic fiber. Seems to me that this was most likely a smart move since the solid ceramic is a bit brittle, not that my old one ever broke. I think that it may be even a little more durable now plus an 8 lb weight reduction.As far as use i freaking love this thing. If you like cooking and playing with fire get one. I've made many a pot of delicious beans on it. Use with a cast iron dutch oven and you can make just about anything with it. May not be the best tool for a camping trip with kids as it takes a moment to fire it up first thing in the morning, but if you are interested in making more then hotdogs and burgers give it a try.Great addition to any sort of house hold disaster/emergency kit."Jesse T.
