For the CampStove
Hot Mess(kit) of Nachos
1 can of corn
1 can veggie chilli
1 bag shredded pepper jack
1 bag tortilla chips1 jalapeno, diced (optional)
Pre-cut your jalapeno before youleave your house so you can makesure your hands are properly washed!Out on the trail, light up yourCampStove and place pot directly overfire. Add corn and chilli. Stir in jalapeno. When bubbling, top with shreddedcheese. Remove from stove and serve with chips.
Inside Out S'Mores
1 Box Chocolate Chip Bunny Grahams
1 Bag semi-sweet chocolate Chips
Marshallows or Strawberries
Sticks or skewers
Crush bunny grahams in bag and spread on plate. Light up CampStove and melt down chocolate chips in pot (add tbsp of butter if you have it with you). Place strawberry or marshmallow on skewer, dip in melted chocolate, roll in bunny crumbs and enjoy!
For the BioLite Portable Grill
Backcountry Steak Rub
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tbs dry mustard powder
1 tbs kosher salt
2 tbs brown sugar
2 tbs ground coffee
1 tbs ground ginger
2 tsp black pepper
Mix well and seal in an air-tight jar. Keeps for up to one month. Transfer into plastic zip bag for easy, lightweight transport on your next trip outdoors.
Easy Steak 'n Onions
1 lb skirt steak or palomilla
1 white onion, cut into 1/2 inch slices
1 handful cilantro (or parsley)
salt and pepper
Get your grill hot! Season the steaks liberally with salt and pepper and cook approximately 5 min per side. Once steaks are cooked, put aside and let rest. Put onions on grill and cook until soft but still have bite (5 min). Slice steaks and serve over onions. Garnish with cilantro and lime juice.
