Every year when Father’s Day rolls around, we start seeing generic gear lists emerge sharing gifting ideas for dads. Often, these lists will tell you that dads are hard to gift for. A quick walk around the BioLite office was all it took for us to feel otherwise. Father’s Day gifts don’t need to be hard or complicated - make them personal to show the dads in your life how much they mean to you.
That walk around the office? Here’s what the team had to say:
Father’s Day Gifts We’ve Loved

"The best gift I ever got was a surprise, long weekend in the Catskills. It was simple - we built fires, cooked delicious meals, and unplugged as a family. It was the reset I didn’t know I needed."
- Nick, Director of Global Logistics and dad of one
What it reminds us of: The best gift is always quality time. Find ways to prioritize time with Dad on Father's Day and all summer long. Where to begin? Start by making a fire.

"I like to think that my kids find me fun, not embarrassing. Hosting backyard parties, whether it’s just our family or with some other friends fills me up. Every Father’s Day I only ask that my family hang some party lights, put on some music, and have a good time.”
- Seth, Director of Visual Design and dad of two
What it reminds us of: Dads want to be fun. Find gifts that aren’t only practical, but honor this playful side of them as well. Per Seth’s request, hang those lights and get the music going.

"My kids moved out of the house a few years ago for college and while every parent wishes their kids would visit more, I use Father’s Day as an opportunity to break my own routines and travel to see them. My wife buys my plane tickets and my kids treat me to a dinner while I’m there. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
- David, Head of North American Sales and dad of three
What it reminds us of: While everyone loves the idea of sending Dad on a beach vacation, sometimes all he really wants is to be with family. Make it easy for him to do so. Putting dad on a plane? Give him a portable charger, so he can relax anywhere at the airport.

"I’m going to cheat and copy Seth. I really like his idea of a backyard hangout. I tend to be that difficult dad that always says I don’t need or want anything, but it’s true! String lights and lanterns up around the backyard, make me a fun meal, and I’m all set."
- JK, Director of Sales and dad of one
What it reminds us of: Sometimes the best gift for dad is a break from the logistics. He wants a backyard dinner? Make it happen. This doesn’t mean his day isn’t special - work in small surprises like a meal cooked on an outdoor fire pit.

"I’m a gear guy. I especially like gadgets that make something I do often more enjoyable. Honestly, this is why I love working at BioLite - we make solar string lights that don’t look like you forgot to take down the Christmas decorations, a portable fire pit that is just fun to use, solar panels you can bring anywhere, and portable chargers which remove headaches when traveling. Shameless plug, our shop has gear that dads love."
- Will, Marketing Manager and dad of one
What it reminds us of: Think of complaints your dad has or aspects of his life that seem to get on his nerves. Find a problem and then find a solution for him.
