Since 2015, BioLite has been committed to transparency and accountability. That same year, we expanded our efforts with a robust sustainability report covering our footprint from 2014 back to our incorporation in 2012. In 2019, we took a significant step forward by achieving Climate Neutral Certification. Now, in our ongoing mission to measure and improve our impact, we’re proud to announce that we are officially a Certified B Corporation.
Earning B Corp Certification is no small feat - the qualifying threshold is 80, with the highest possible score being 200 and the median score for businesses who complete the assessment just 50.9. BioLite earned an impressive 157.8, a reflection of our deep commitment to balancing purpose and profit while driving lasting benefits for both people and the planet.
As part of the global B Corp community, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of social and environmental performance, continuously striving to innovate and lead in sustainable business practices.
But what is a B Corp, exactly? And why does it matter?
What is a B Corp?
Certified B Corporations® (B Corps™) are for-profit companies that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. In short, using business as a force for global good.
Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. We are legally required to consider the impact of our decisions on our workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment. We meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. It's a rigorous assessment conducted by the nonprofit B Lab, and certification isn’t easy to earn.
To become a B Corp, a company must:
- Prove its impact across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers
- Embed its commitment to stakeholders—not just shareholders—into its legal structure
- Open itself up to full transparency and recertification every three years
The result? A growing movement of businesses that measure success not just by the bottom line, but by the positive change they create.
We’re a community of leaders, driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good. And we’re in great company; Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, Allbirds, Cotopaxi, Bombas, Athleta, Kickstarter, and Klean Kanteen, just to name a few.
Why Choose B Corps?
Choosing a B Corp means supporting a better way of doing business. It means backing brands that put people and planet first. Helping shift industries toward greater transparency and accountability. And you’re part of a global movement building a regenerative, inclusive economy
For us, becoming a B Corp isn’t the finish line—it’s a new beginning. A renewed commitment to innovate responsibly, grow sustainably, and push what’s possible when business meets mission.
