Current Estimated Ship Date: Late Spring/Early Summer 2026
The recent turbulence of the tariff landscape had a direct impact on our production timelines, requiring the team to temporarily redirect their time and attention towards securing alternative supply chain options that would enable us to continue producing Backup a) with the utmost quality and b) maintaining our pricepoints. We are grateful to the manufacturing and operations teams for their agility in this unexpected pivot and are happy to share that we will be maintaining our original MSRPs:

The team is now fully back on getting ready for mass production. Accounting for a full production run, final QA, and sea freight from our factory (6-8 weeks), we anticipate this means landing in our US warehouse in late spring 2026, with shipments rolling out in the weeks thereafter. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our customers and community and cannot wait to get Backup into your homes.
Product Development & Production Status
Check out our in-depth post about our latest user testing validation phase and how Backup performed during a real world power outage (spoiler alert: it did great). This post also includes a great variety of use cases and installation methods across kitchens, living rooms, and basements.
The TL;DR: Backup is performing to expectations and we are in the final stages of refinement and safety certification testing. We are planning for one final round of user testing in late fall to catch any small bugs to help ensure as seamless of an experience as possible for our users once Backup ships. That said, one great feature of Backup is our ability to deliver Over-The-Air updates to the system, meaning you will continue to get the latest and greatest versions of our system even after Backup is installed in your home.
